On piano, Orla Clarke played ‘Rat Race’ by Ailbhe McDonagh, Alice Harney performed ‘Robin Redbreast’ and Ciara Flynn Caballero played and sang ‘Hallelujah’ by Leonard Coen. Ruby Harney played a Mambo, Julianne Haide played a Mozart piece on veeh-harp and Kjeld Hemsing played the Welsh anthem ‘Land of our Fathers’ on trumpet.
The Senior Ensemble followed, with music from ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ by Klaus Badelt, ‘Viva la Vida’ by Coldplay, ‘The Sound of Silence’ by Paul Simon, and the U2 number ‘You’re the best thing about me’. The young musicians had been busily practising and rehearsing during this time in preparation for their first time taking the stage since the onset of the pandemic.įirst up were Kilbride and Lakeside SingSong group who performed with great gusto songs such as ‘A long way to Tipperary’, ‘Loch Lomond’, ‘Dublin’s Fair City’ and ‘I’ll tell my Ma’.
THE Kilbride and Lakeside Music Committee held an Easter Concert in Manor Kilbride last Friday, which was the first indoor performance in two years and three months.
